religion

sharia.jpgRight here in Tampa Bay, earlier this week, people met from across the globe to discuss reforming Islam, about bringing an enlightened version to those who suffer opression and brutality at the hands of Sharia, and cultural tyranny in the form of male dominance and violence.

Oddly, Atheists, lesbians, Christians and agnostics were represented at this summit, along with some actual Muslims. Seems a little odd that this group would meet to reform something they don’t adhere to in the first place, but whatever. Also, below is an excerpt from The Times Online and the chairperson for a portion of the event, herself formerly a slave bride to an Afghan Muslim, whom she lived with in Afghanistan.

The point of posting this is the interesting, contorted world view of a feminist, multicultural, anti-Israel, anti-Western culture college professor who meets third world Islamic barbarism and, lo and behold, she has an awakening. Her shock that her radical feminist, Jew hating, anti-American colleagues dumped her for seeing, and telling, the truth is almost laughable, except that her perceptions of the menace mirror my own.

I’m reminded that the Socialist lefts attempts to subvert Western civilization and culture are being made throughout the world. This person is, or was, in that camp, until her epiphany.

Maybe there’s some hope after all.
==============================================================================
“Nevertheless, Western intellectual-ideologues, including feminists, have demonised me as a reactionary and racist “Islamophobe” for arguing that Islam, not Israel, is the largest practitioner of both sexual and religious apartheid in the world and that if Westerners do not stand up to this apartheid, morally, economically and militarily, we will not only have the blood of innocents on our hands; we will also be overrun by Sharia in the West. I have been heckled, menaced, never-invited, or disinvited for such heretical ideas — and for denouncing the epidemic of Muslim-on-Muslim violence for which tiny Israel is routinely, unbelievably scapegoated.

However, my views have found favour with the bravest and most enlightened people alive. Leading secular Muslim and ex-Muslim dissidents — from Egypt, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Syria and exiles from Europe and North America — assembled for the landmark Islamic Summit Conference in Florida and invited me to chair the opening panel on Monday.

According to the chair of the meeting, Ibn Warraq: “What we need now is an age of enlightenment in the Islamic world. Without critical examination of Islam, it will remain dogmatic, fanatical and intolerant and will continue to stifle thought, human rights, individuality, originality and truth.” The conference issued a declaration calling for such a new “Enlightenment”. The declaration views “Islamophobia” as a false allegation, sees a “noble future for Islam as a personal faith, not a political doctrine” and “demands the release of Islam from its captivity to the ambitions of power-hungry men”.

Now is the time for Western intellectuals who claim to be antiracists and committed to human rights to stand with these dissidents. To do so requires that we adopt a universal standard of human rights and abandon our loyalty to multicultural relativism, which justifies, even romanticises, indigenous Islamist barbarism, totalitarian terrorism and the persecution of women, religious minorities, homosexuals and intellectuals. Our abject refusal to judge between civilisation and barbarism, and between enlightened rationalism and theocratic fundamentalism, endangers and condemns the victims of Islamic tyranny.”

Far out, dude.

Ever wonder why the Left in America seem’s so willing to promote just about anything that furthers legal aid and protection for foreign terrorists?

It’s no coincidence that the Socialist Left and Islamist desires to destroy America make for a cozy partnership. A match made in hell, certainly.

You might enjoy a video reminder of the recent history of Jihad, and another video expressing the connection between modern Islamist ideology and their historical counterparts.

Islam is not really about sawing the heads off of unbelievers, at least not right at first.

An important intermediate step is allowing unbelievers to live in submission to muslims, if a long list of do’s and dont’s are followed to the letter and something called a jizya, or poll tax, is willingly paid and you behave as one who has been subdued. So, technically, you could bribe your way into avoiding death. You might regret your decision, once the myriad of opressive measures were inflicted upon you, but you would still be breathing.

While in this no man’s land of dhimmitude, and paying a prohibitive tax for the pleasure of remaining on Muslim land, you might have second thoughts. Keep in mind, this tax supports Muslim life. The booty from conquered lands was substantial, and motivated much of the agressive warring activities of Islam, while the tax was an ongoing interest payment for putting up with the infidel monkeys and apes in their midst. Booty in warring action’s payed for further such activity.

The next most logical step would be submission to Islam, and forsaking any behavior not specifically aligned with Quranic teachings. However, your never truly accepted as a Muslim, nor a convert, but rather a revert, since according to Islam, everyone is a Muslim, they just don’t know it yet. So, even in this submitted state of an actual Muslim, your never really an insider.

Now we arrive at the beheadings, a favored way to take the lives of those who refuse to submit to Allah. Done properly, this is at best gruesome, but effective for killing, and sends a powerful political message.

So, if anyone says the terrorists want to cut your head off, they’re right. But, historical Islam thought it wiser collecting an income from those they conquered, rather than killing the golden goose of their dhimmi’s.

Nothing has changed. The identical Islam is practiced by fundamentalist Muslims worldwide, with the majority preferring to practice the lukewarm version rather than the historical one, so beheadings are a recent reinstatement, and take place in Saudi Arabia and Iran frequently, along with stoning women to death and chopping off the hands and/or feet of thieves.

Western sensibilities may be offended by these truths, I know I was. With the sweet moniker of the “religion of peace”, the dismissal of Islamist threats, and relegation of terrorists attacks to isolated incidents committed by unstable “youths”, joining those who ignore these realities takes no effort. Do nothing, believe what your told, and presto! No Islamic terrorist threat. Only a handful of “extremists” who hijacked the religion.

I would encourage a little reading, a little study, no imagination necessary. The facts of history speak for themselves.

Belgian Left joins with growing Islamic population

I found this at Hugh Hewitt’s blog. If your wrestling with a fat ego or delusions of grandeur, and your not a fool, you might learn a little something here about the future of mankind, and tone down the intensity of your self importance, as well as lighten up a little on the confrontational thing. History repeats itself because there’s nothing new under the sun.

Anyone reading this that’s never made the same mistake twice, raise your hand.

That’s what I thought.

After reading a post by my friend Neil at 4SimpsonsBlog I sat for several minutes, unable to make a pertinent comment. I think it’s only reasonable to return the favor of stating your opinion on another’s site, especially when you understand the work and sacrifice required to produce a post that’s accurate, interesting and informative.

So, in order to urge something reasoned, I re-read the post, this time with an eye to contrary opinion. Have you ever read a post, already convinced that it’s rubbish, and searched for that one, glaring sentence with which to attack the whole creation with a sharp witted, slap of the back of the hand of truth? No? Well, I have.

That’s not exactly what I did here at all, but being a little more agressive allowed the common misconception of moral equivalence, the notion that any and all, and in this case, spirituality is on par with every other, to dominate the post for me. In the climate of “equality”, when assessing religious practice of any kind, to do so broadly reflects well on those who do, denoting an open-minded, tolerant and fair appraiser. In other words, the farther from constraints of actually understanding varied religious beliefs, the better off you will be. By remaining only vaguely acquainted with particular doctrine, a decision about what to do with that information is averted. I’m safe from God, if I just ignore becoming too intimate with the whole idea.

Or, to sate that need to satisfy the inner spiritual self, maybe a little dabble in harmless things, like Wicca or New Age experiences. Seems plenty “spiritual” to me, and besides, it feels good.

It seems we’ve allowed the non-judgemental, fair-minded, tolerant, “open to anything as long as no one else is hurt”, moral relativist way to address life permeate and cloud our mind’s about what’s certainly the most critical decision anyone ever has to make.

God, if there is a God, are you there, and what do you want from me?

Not everyone comes away from that question with exactly the same answer.

Not asking that question does nothing to kick the can down the road of discovery and better understanding and possibly a life-changing decision or two.

Reconvert Europe to Christianity
Joseph Farah
Posted: February 27, 2007
1:00 a.m. Eastern

The U.S. State Department has another great idea.

The problem in Europe, say the professional diplomats, is that European Muslims just aren’t assimilating the way they should.

So the geniuses at State have hired Farah Pandith from the National Security Council to head up a new effort to help European Muslims better integrate into European society.

Let me tell you something – they hired the wrong Farah for the wrong job.

Listen to the way these knuckleheads at State talk about this problem.

Daniel Fried, assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, said the growing Muslim presence in Europe is “a fascinating issue and one that the American government is just now trying to get its mind around. It’s a huge problem, we are thinking about it seriously, and we’ve tried to do some intellectual framing-up.”

What does he propose?

He says Europe is to blame.

“You have a weird nativist surge in Western Europe, and a kind of odd panic: Aliens are here, they don’t accept our values, they are a threat to our way of life and turn to radicalism,” says Fried.

So State is going to bring American Muslims to Europe to meet with their counterparts in an effort to “break down stereotypes” and help them end their “self-isolation.”

In other words, psychobabble.

This isn’t about stereotypes and self-isolation. It’s about conflicting worldviews. It’s about an evil ideology that seeks to destroy Europe and the U.S. and conquer the world.

On one point, however, I think the eggheads at the State Department are right. The key to the outcome of this global conflict is in Europe.

Do you want to know how to win the fight against the global jihadists?

I’m going to tell you how, and I’m serious.

Re-Christianize the continent.

That’s what we need to do.

We need to re-evangelize Europe.

Europe is ripe for this experience.

It has experimented now with socialism for longer than the Soviet Union existed.

It has experimented with secular humanism as a religion.

And it has faced out-of-control immigration from Muslim lands. These new immigrants are happy to exploit the benefits of the welfare state, but they have no use for secular humanism.

If Europe is ever going to be re-evangelized, the time is now, while there is still a vestige of freedom left. Once Europe becomes Eurabia, evangelism, as we know it in the U.S., will carry with it the death penalty.

Europe is going to go one of two ways in the near future:

It’s going to become Eurabia;

It’s going to rediscover Christianity in a way that will give its people – native Europeans and transplants from Muslim countries alike – something else they can believe in.
Islamists are counting on Europe falling into their hands. Most Americans are simply awaiting the inevitable. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can do something about it. We can save Europe for the third time in 100 years – this time without firing a shot.

This can be done and must be done. Americans need to help – not just by becoming missionaries to Europe but especially by supporting the indigenous evangelists already at work there.

You often hear, these days, that Islam is the fastest-growing religion on the planet. I’m not sure from where these statistics come – probably from Saudi Arabia. The truth is that Christianity is the fastest-growing religion on the planet, with lots of Muslims converting all over the world.

No, I don’t think sending American Muslims to Europe is a good idea. I think sending American Christians there would make much more sense.

We don’t have to “invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,” as my friend Ann Coulter once suggested about our Islamo-fascist enemies. In Europe, all we have to do is convert them to Christianity – peacefully, voluntarily, non-coercively, lovingly.

It’s time to reintroduce Europe to Christianity.

It is a continent much in need of salvation.

It is a continent filled with people who are lost.

It’s time they had a real choice – not just between secular humanism and Islam, but also the choice of Christianity, the faith that made Europe great.

stop_the_aclu.jpgIn America, every person arrested for violating the law is considered innocent until proven guilty. Each person also has the right to remain silent and to have an attorney appointed to them if they cannot afford one.

But, what if your already an attorney, assuming your the kind of attorney familiar with criminal law? And, what if your breaking federal law, the same federal law that you had worked for years to resist as a defender of the accused? What if you willingly acted to thwart, or ignore, that law for your own personal interest? What if you were a former president of a chapter of the ACLU, an organization that dreams, and works, among other unsavory things, for virtually no control of pornography availability and consumption? Pornography of any kind.

I suspect a great deal of minimizing and overlooking the gross details of this case will take place. I would add shame and embarrassment, but i’m not sure that’s part of the lexicon of, just so you know, a group of lawyers founded by communists. No hyperbole here, communists.
===============================================================================
Here’s their pornography policy:

Why does the ACLU support pornography? Why are you in favor of child porn?

The ACLU does not support pornography. But we do oppose virtually all forms of censorship. Possessing books or films should not make one a criminal. Once society starts censoring “bad” ideas, it becomes very difficult to draw the line. Your idea of what is offensive may be a lot different from your neighbors. The ACLU takes a very purist approach in opposing censorship. Our policy is that possessing pornographic material should not itself be a crime. The best way to combat child pornography is for the government to prosecute those who exploit children by making pornography and we strongly agree with the enforcement of such prosecutions.
==============================================================================

I’m not going to overplay the blindingly obvious here. The man was arrested after an international investigation caught him downloading the worst kind of child porn, pre-pubescent girls, some tied down, subjected to forcible, violent rape. The next step in severity is to kill the victim.

What I’m waiting for are the psychoanalysts and victimologists to invent a defense. Don’t be surprised.

“Your idea of what is offensive may be a lot different from your neighbors”. Yes, that seems to be the problem here.

I’m not kidding.

Another ill-advised ACLU muscling out of religious freedoms. Thanks Kathy

flagusa.gif They say perception is reality. I suppose that cover’s it, for the most part. But, why do you think there are such widely diverse and contrary understandings of the exact same set of facts? Frequently in conversation, I’m baffled to hear recounted something I’d said, the substance of which was unrecognizable to my memory. I’ve learned most people don’t truly hear what you say, but rather remember how they FELT about what you said. I should include myself as having made that mistake, as well. Do you ever get the message that when using words such as patriotism, liberal, conservative, faith, that people hold private definitions which often make honestly communicating impossible?

Chronic concern for the feeling’s of others often leads to deceitful negotiation of differences. Who can speak honestly if the emotional reaction of others are at all times stifling, contorting, and preventing a frank, candid discussion? Political correctness is a weapon of denial, deceit and manipulation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I’m not saying blurt out your perception of the truth, feeling’s and consequences be damned. Adult’s learn to make the view’s known without being a clod or unneccessarily harsh. After all, not everyone agrees on just what patriotism is…

I am saying that if you, at first, measure your responses because you pre-determine the other person hold’s fragile position’s and may not be able to handle the truth, you will always stop short of expressing your true views.

I realize this can be endless…pre-conceived notions, raw bigotry, willful ignorance. However, don’t you wonder where the people who see America as the evil, greedy opressive terrorist nation that needs an attitude adjustment learned this point of view? Weren’t they here with us enjoying the same personal freedom, opportunity and rule of law? Weren’t they eating the same food, enjoying the same entertainment, have the same heroes? Doesn’t a sense of gratefulness and patriotism accompany the benefits and advantages we all share?

Apparently not.

The usual socialism vs. capitalism stuff often needs simplifying. Give it a go. Thanks Charles

Understanding just how familiar Muslim political proponents in America have become with some of our most embarrassing, foolish concoctions, like political correctness, which is essentially a scheme to force everyone to lie, and pretend, so no one’s feelings are hurt, is important to bring truth to light about claims of “discrimination” and “prejudice ” from Muslim “civil liberty” groups, including “prayer rooms” in airports and a blind eye to anyone “traveling while Muslim”.

Misinformation and clever manipulation of civil right’s legislation designed to protect the deserving are being usurped by the latest newly minted, opressed minority, Muslims. “Islamophobia”, a UN creation giving label to the cause, is rarely used to point up serious injustice dealt to Muslims. Rather, this badge is worn proudly by those seeking a myriad of special rights and privileges sought by this group.

CAIR presents language that might be mistaken for Dr. King, not pleading for justice, but rather demanding punishment or censure accompany anyone who speaks against their agenda. Clever manipulation of US law has enabled CAIR to begin the process of entrenching Muslims in the victimology of the nation, with the attendant sympathy and contrition shown by the Left. Even the AP has gotten into the act.

I’m not advocating profiling of Muslims at airports, because not all terrorists are young, middle eastern men with beards. I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists, but certainly 99% of terrorists are Muslim. I’m not saying the US isn’t full of clandestine, America Last organizations that seek to use our liberal laws regarding personal freedom against us.

I am saying that some of these groups present a much more sinister, immediate threat than others. The gentleman who wrote the article below has many years of experience with these groups and is widely respected and supported in his efforts.

When a “moderate” Muslim group says one thing, but supports the opposite, Americans need to know about the hypocrisy and deception.

Apparently, even local School boards aren’t too small to target. Attacks on Christian and Jewish holiday recognition are but one of many areas of aggression by Islamist front groups. Thanks Neil for your vigilance.

Our friend at Ironic Surrealism has a fine expose of CAIR lies as well.

Islamists around the United States are playing games with the American public. While supporting extremist causes and the hate-filled ideologies of the Muslim Brotherhood – the violent group that spawned Hamas and Al-Qaeda – they have gotten involved, as well, in interfaith activities. Of course, it’s difficult to criticize someone that is engaged in something so innocuous as interfaith. It highlights a danger in our society of a fifth column disguised as a friend.

Ahmed Bedier is a leader in the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that has its roots in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. His role in the organization is as its Florida Communications Director and as its local Tampa Executive Director. Apart from this, Bedier co-hosts a radio show, True Talk, on Tampa’s WMNF. Within both venues, he is able to spread his dual message, one of peace and love and one of vile hate. We will focus on a latter radio show of his to bring out this point.

On Monday, January 15, 2007, Bedier addressed a crowd at an interfaith memorial service for Martin Luther King, Jr. To advertise this fact, Bedier placed an attractive picture of the late civil rights leader on his web blog, along with the audio of the speech. He played some of it on his show.

Bedier stated, “As I look out on the ground tonight, how beautiful you all look, right here in Tampa, and how diverse that we are. We’re not just black and white or Hispanic or Arabs. We’re a spectrum of colors.” With this, he received much applause, as he did for other things he stated, including how Muslims are “reaping the benefits of [King’s] work,” through what Bedier called a “post-9/11 environment.”

While he underhandedly exploited the occasion of the death of Dr. King to work in CAIR’s pseudo claim of anti-Muslim bigotry, most of what Bedier said was inoffensive and harmless. But no matter the kind words, on this same radio show, another message was being sent — that of undeniable hatred.

There were three guests on this particular show. The first was Khalil Bendib, an Algerian-born, Berkeley-based, racially-charged cartoonist, who likes satirizing the September 11th attacks. On Bendib’s website, one finds his work categorized into different groups. One of the categories is titled “BLACK CARTOONS.” The logo for this category is a picture of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s head. Rice and numerous other members of the African-American community – even those that Bendib seems to support – are made to look as if they came straight out of an Amos and Andy skit.

During the program, Bendib admitted that he had been called an anti-Semite for his work. Looking at many of his drawings, one could easily understand why. Jewish stars are liberally used within and/or alongside symbols of violence. Ariel Sharon, the former Prime Minister of Israel, is seen as bloodthirsty. In one cartoon, the word “CANNIBAL” is emblazoned next to Sharon’s face. Mid-East expert Daniel Pipes is depicted as a pro-Jewish zealot. Anti-Defamation League National Director Abraham Foxman is labeled a “Zionist Extremist.” All three of Bendib’s victims are drawn with the same type of exaggerated features found in anti-Semitic publications throughout the Arab world.

Bedier’s co-host, Samar Jarrah, rabidly anti-Israel herself, stated, “Y’know people say that Muslims and Arabs don’t have a sense of humor, but he has very funny cartoons…”

The other two guests were New York imam Talib Abdur-Rashid and Kentucky academic Ihsan Bagby. Both Abdur-Rashid and Bagby are leaders of the Muslim Alliance of North America (MANA), an African-American Islamist group founded in May of 2000, in response to the arrest of cop killer H.Rap Brown, a.k.a. Jamil Al-Amin.

It took little time for the MANA duo to let out invectives directed at the white community and those black Christians that they believe are tools of the whites. The following exchange between Abdur-Rashid, Bagby and Bedier (who felt the urge to chime in with his own prejudice) took place on the radio show and exemplifies this hate talk:

Abdur-Rashid: “One of the problems with many of the black churches is that they’re really controlled by the white church. They’re kind of local chapters of larger white churches, many of whom have Evangelical influence or leaning… [U]sually when you’ll find an African-American pastor speaking in that negative kind of way, there’s a hidden devil, so to speak, somewhere in the background egging him on.”

Bagby: “If I might add, I’ve seen some of the material produced by black and white Evangelical Christian groups that are aimed at Muslims. The black material is a lot more objective, if you will. Just as pointed to try to convert someone from Islam to Christianity, but a lot more objective…”

Bedier: “More intelligent.”

Bagby: “More intelligent – probably because black people are more exposed to Islam, and therefore, they really can’t get away too much with slanting stuff completely, totally out of line, that everybody knows what that just doesn’t hold water. Whereas the white Evangelical material is a lot more venomous, as you said, and hateful.”

Normally Bedier’s radio show is used to defend terrorists and their support network, but as illustrated above, True Talk is also a showcase for racism. Bedier’s participation in Martin Luther King, Jr. memorials and interfaith events is just a way of concealing his and his colleagues’ real motives. This author will never be fooled.
