From the La Voz de Aztlan website:
What does the immense success of “La Gran Marcha” mean to Mexicanos and other Latinos? It simply means that we now have the numbers, the political will and the organizational skills to direct our own destinies and not be subservient to the White and Jewish power structures. It means that we can now undertake bigger and more significant mass actions to achieve total political and economic liberation…
“Eventually labor union power can merge with the immigrant civil rights and “Immigrant Sanctuary” movements to enable us to either form a new political party or to do heavy duty reforming of the existing Democratic Party. The next and final steps would follow and that is to elect our own governors of all the states within Aztlan.”
“On the issue of the Iraq war, we want our troops withdrawn from Iraq and a negotiated peace with Iran; on the issue of immigration, we want humane and comprehensive immigration reform that will legalize the 12 million undocumented workers; and on the issue of peace in our communities, we want peace among California’s divergent ethnic/racial communities (translated:gangs)”
In 1960, non Hispanic whites made up 82% of the population of Los Angeles County. Forty years later, just 31%, while Hispanics accounted for 44.6%. The number of Mexicans in the Los Angeles area is second only to Mexico City.
Three million people of Mexican ancestry call L.A. County home, and half of all it’s residents, 54%, speak a lauguage other than English at home. They have spanish language television stations, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, books, etc., collect welfare at over 2 times the rate of native born Americans and unless college educated, costs taxpayers on average $30,000-$90,000 over his or her lifetimes. Mexicans here outnumber all other immigrant groups 6 to 1, and Canadians 16 to 1.
The anglo hegemony was an abberation from 1880 to 1960. The Mexican culture was there all along.
California is going home to Mexico, and no one seems to mind except the roughly 100,000 whites and upper middle class blacks that are leaving the state per year. The “reconquista” of the southwestern US is in full swing, and only a few notice, or care.
At least, Texas is fighting back. Thanks Charles

A very detailed account. A moment of humor is needed, beyond your political cartoon. Maybe this is just revenge for the Mexican War.

How insensitive and racist of you. ;-)
(whispered aside: I’ve been waiting to hear this.)

Where to begin with this one?
Living in the past is detrimental yet my countrymen (not really since most of these “aztlanites” were born here in the USA) let it govern their struggle against the ‘hegemony’ (if I had a nickel for every time I heard this word at UT during some protest or another…)
Since they want to correct past grievances, how are we going to settle the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs (among others)?
Spanish blood runs through the veins of most Mexicans so are we going to have to give some of our blood(the Spanish portion of it, of course)?
I know the “blood=heredity” thing is antiquated, so let me update it. Are we going to have to our European genes excised from our genomes in order to atone for the brutality of men like Cortes?
I know, I know let’s forsake our Christian names (they’re oppressive too) and adopt Nahuatl names to consummate the grievance: I choose Xochicualotocoatl, take that Spain!

Hi Hank
Land has always been occupied by those that want it the most. If those that have it don’t care about it enough to defend then all the easier.
California is such a place. It’s just a matter of time before Mexico completes it’s evasion. They simply want it more than the people who live there.
However this story has a bit of a twist. For decades we have been hearing about the San Andreas fault and how the big one could come at any time. If this is so then… can Mexicans swim?

It takes little more than a cursory study of the great civilizations of the past to see that there is usually a cycle of about 200 years from inception before the faithful go to sleep, and the civilization becomes another chapter in the history books.
What Hank describes is yet another sign that far too many of those in positions of leadership in this country continue to hit the metaphorical snooze button rather than wake up to the harsh reality that there are squatters in the house. And that the house needs an extreme makeover.
Personally, I’m learning Chinese. Once the Communist regime finally crumbles there, I believe that will be the next chapter for the history books; but I’m afraid, without serious changes, America’s chapter is largely writ.
Thanks for continuing to try to arouse the sleeping, Hank.

Have you heard about the Dallas based pizza chain Pizza Patron. A predominately take out pizza place that has the innovative customer service program “Pizza por Pesos”. They accept pesos as a service to their Latino customers.
I’ve heard of the re-conquest of the southwest. It seems to me more of a surrender or foolish acceptance. I hope either way someone (lots of someones)wake up pretty soon.

As a current Californian, I really agree. When there are “pro-Mexican” rallies, there’s no traffic. The Governator wants to give them unemployment when the citrus crops went under.
Arizona is awake. They want to build their own wall and have their police patrol the borders.
This will change – once the invasion starts to hit San Francisco, DC, and New York. Once those cities start having huge problems with illegal immigration, Congress will wake up. Personally, I vote for shipping the Mexicans to John Edwards’ $6 million house and Gore’s electricity-guzzling mansions.

It has hit NY already. There are large communities where undocumented aliens live and congreagate at the corner everyday to work as day laborers.
They are proving to be a real strain on the school system also, as the form a special subgroup that must be accounted for in AYP under Title I (NCLB) laws.
What is needed is some way to stop the crossings, and then figure out what to do with those already here. There is no way that 10 million people will be deported, as much as some may want it, even if it would be legal under the law. However, the flood has to be checked first.

Hi Hank,
I see two reasonable solutions to this. We could just mandate that all our East coast liberals be shipped to California to balance out the racial populations. We did that with our public schools, so I see no legal reason we can’t do it in this case.
Or, and what I suspect our governing elite is aiming at, we could just go ahead and annex Mexico. In the short term, this would be to our disadvantage, however, it would also give us access to a fairly large and poorly utilized section of land, and, perhaps more importantly, would give us a much shorter southern border.
Time will tell.

I 2nd britandgrit’s motion re. the East coast liberals. All in favor? Motion passes unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
I find it is often useful to play “follow the money” to see who benefits enough to let/make things happen in politics. Yet while I can see how some people profit from the open border, I just can’t see how it is direct and large enough for our whole government to just look the other way.
Perhaps the accountability is spread too broadly. The governments of the last 25 years – Democrats and Republicans alike – should be ashamed for letting it get to this point.
Secure the borders, now!!

Aye! Aye!
Don’t forget, we would also get the Baja coast with the annexation. And margaritas.

A quote from an internet article:
“spics are not native to mexico let along california.
The mayans were wiped out many years ago because the spainyards (like everyone else) thought they were disgusting.
They dont even speak the native language of the area. They speak spanish which is from spain.
They are the leftover scum from a war with spain that killed the men and raped their foul women. They spainyards should have kept their peckers in their pants and the problem would never exist. I dont know why they would would want to rape one of those women anyhow. They would have been better off with a farm goat.
At least farm goats would not be sucking up our welfare and filling our prisons.”
